About Nathan

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and I graduated with my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2017.  I did my clinical training in a variety of settings spanning community mental health, hospitals, college counseling centers, and private practice.  In my free time I enjoy coffee, sports, and time with my family and pets.

I work well with a diverse range of adults, couples, and families.  Being multicultural, I am familiar with the immigrant story and issues related to racial/ethnic identity.

I specialize in working with adults and adolescents with a range of anxiety disorders, trauma, grief, and mood disorders.  I have worked hard to excel in a range of different therapies and work well with many types of diagnoses.  I enjoy incorporating evidence based techniques into practice and am currently expanding my fluency in mindfulness based interventions.

What I’m like as a therapist:

I work primarily from an integrated therapeutic approach and utilize strength-based relational frames that also incorporate existential and psychodynamic orientations.  I often utilize simple, concrete approaches to reduce psychological symptoms while developing a sense of security and depth in the therapeutic relationship.  I have a genuine love of psychology and am usually reading at least 3 books on psychotherapy to help me be a better psychologist.
