About Morgan

Morgan Waggoner is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Art Therapist. She completed a dual M.A. degree program in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in 2013. Prior to joining Chicago Clinical Associates, Morgan worked in outpatient and inpatient treatment settings, community mental health, and as an on-call crisis clinician in Chicago.

Morgan has a wealth of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various professional capacities (i.e. individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy). Her areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, relational struggles, premarital/couples counseling, addiction recovery, spirituality, life transitions, and trauma and loss. Morgan’s holistic approach to psychotherapy encompasses a wide range of therapeutic models including psychodynamic theories, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral therapy (CBT & DBT), and solution-focused models. The integration of art therapy is an option available for all clients and does not require specific art skills in order to participate. Morgan’s therapeutic approach is collaborative and relational, and her goal is to provide clients with the insights and tools to promote self-growth and build upon personal strengths. Ultimately, Morgan believes therapy is a partnership built upon client-centered trust and understanding in order to provide support for overcoming adversity, strengthening relationships, and increasing self-awareness.

In her spare time, Morgan strives to expand her clinical training and build strong relationships in her community. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and American Art Therapy Association.
